This Season I Am Thankful For Fruits and Vegetables.

Fruits and VegetablesIt’s fall and approaching Thanksgiving in the USA.  As the world starts to mosey towards the Holidays and parties as well as deserved time to spend with a family, I thought I would take a moment and mention a few of the things I am thankful for.

I am ever thankful for my subscribers and members to this site, as it has grown and I have grown with it.  This week we are rolling out a new format for the meal plans that is a bit shorter and easier to read.  It also is updated with the grocery list being available by meal and by area of the store.  I hope that you will like it, as I have been devoting a lot of time to it’s redesign in the past few months.  I have learned more about you through the emails and comments that you send about how these plans help you and your families!

With the upgraded meal plans, I will be able to develop for you some specialized meal plans that I have been asked for – like vegetarian or all chicken.  I am working to get those on the books.

I am thankful for our newest branch off the Healthy Diet Menus tree – Renal Diet Headquarters.  I have found that in order to bring you specific content and make it mesh together, I want to branch off the HDM4U tree.  It’s not quite there with the meal plans being ready, but they will be in the next couple of weeks.  If you sign up now for early notification you will get a discount.  We will roll out several other sites related to our diets in the next months.

Finally, it’s fruits and vegetables that I am also thankful for.  This year, our family is going to try hard to have a lower sodium and calorie meal for Thanksgiving so that we are not all tuckered out from eating so much that we cannot enjoy each others company.  It’s going to be tough to not have all the starches and make room for some braised red cabbage, green beans and spinach but I have young children and I think it’s best that I start teaching them well now!

So, tangerines are in season in the southeastern US, and Brussels sprouts in the western US.  So, try to pick up some extra vegetables and make a new side dish with them!

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
